“LOHAS” Health of People with Down Syndrome Sharing Seminar 
People with Down Syndrome have more health problems than the general population, and also show signs of aging earlier. This seminar brings together various experts and academics to share practical health information, including common difficulties and training needs of people with Down Syndrome in daily life, ways to increase their physical activity and fitness, as well as introducing common diseases and health points for people with Down Syndrome.
Mr. Wong Kwok Chun, the Dep Dir of Social Welfare (Services) officiating for the seminar.
Mr. Lit Hoo Yin, the General Manager, Charities, The Hong Kong Jockey Club, gave a speech to the audience.
Ms. Victoria Tang Owen, the president of the Hong Kong Down Syndrome Association, shared "We hope that through this event, we can help people with Down Syndrome and their caregivers, and at the same time, help the public understand and care for them, so that they can build a sustainable and healthy lifestyle, integrate into the community and live a happy life together!"
Mr. Chor Wai Hing, the Chairperson of the Executive Committee, and Nga Yin, a member with Down Syndrome, presented souvenirs to the three sharing guests.
Hoi chiu, a member with Dowin Syndrome, and Ms. Wong Yuen Yi, the Centre-in-charge of Bradbury Parents Resource Centre, were the MCs of the seminar. 
1)Training needs on living skills of People with Down Syndrome

Dr. Calvin Yip Chi Kong, the Associate Professor of School of Medical & Health Science, Occupation Therapy Department of Tung Wah College, shared the importance of life skills needs for people with Down Syndrome and suggested training methods; increasing motivation to participate; developing habits and training success tips to reduce caregiver stress and improve self-care. 
 
2) The important of Physical Health Training for People with Down Syndrome

Mr. Kenneth Liang, the Health and Fitness Officer of Centre for Sports & Exercise, The University of Hong Kong, shared the concept of optimal health; the possible effects of exercise on different health dimensions; and the appropriate exercises to participate in, in order to enhance the interest in sports training and strengthen the body.
 
3)Common Diseases & Acupoint Health Care for People with Down Syndrome

Dr. Eason Lam Kar Yeung, the registered Chinese Medicine Practitioner, shared a fun and easy way to learn about different acupoint for people with Down Syndrome, which is very good for emotional control, spiritual flexibility and resistance. This is a helpful way in maintaining good health.
